IBKR extends its Brazil access from stocks to futures

Interactive Brokers added Brazilian futures through the B3 exchange for clients outside Brazil, a straightforward market-access expansion rather than anything AI-related for once.

What's new

IBKR opened B3 access to equities back in December 2025. Futures are the next step, giving non-Brazilian clients direct access to Brazil's derivatives market through the same B3 exchange, rather than needing a separate local broker or workaround.

Why it's worth a mention

Market-access expansions like this rarely make headlines the way AI-agent connectors do, but they're the more common way a broker actually changes what you can do with an account. B3 is one of the larger exchanges in Latin America, and futures access is a meaningfully bigger step than equities alone for anyone trading Brazilian markets from outside the country.

Why this matters if you use Cresori

IBKR is one of the brokers Cresori connects to directly. If you start trading Brazilian futures through this access, that's a new market and instrument type in your account, worth knowing Cresori will need to handle correctly across currency, exchange and settlement conventions that differ from US markets.
