Bloomberg acquires Canoe Intelligence, another data provider consolidating around AI

We've covered smaller, newer players like Eulerpool and Databento building AI-native or challenger data infrastructure this summer. Bloomberg's answer is the opposite move: acquire rather than build.
The deal
Bloomberg is acquiring Canoe Intelligence, an AI-powered platform that extracts and standardizes data from private-markets documents, fund statements, capital calls, valuations, the kind of alternative-asset paperwork that doesn't come in a clean feed the way public market data does. Bloomberg frames the deal as a step toward unifying public and private market data in one place.
Why it fits the pattern
Every data-provider story we've run this summer, Eulerpool's Anthropic partnership, Databento's funding round, now this, points at the same underlying pressure: AI-agent workflows want structured, queryable data, and a lot of the market's most valuable data (private markets especially) still isn't. Bloomberg is responding by buying a company that already solved that problem for one asset class rather than building the capability from scratch.
Why this matters if you use Cresori
This is squarely institutional, private-markets data, not something that touches a typical Cresori account directly. Flagging it anyway because it's part of the same broader consolidation story as Databento and Eulerpool: incumbents and challengers are both racing to make market data more AI-agent-ready, and where that money flows tends to shape what data quality and coverage look like industry-wide over time.
