IBKR adds the Bucharest Stock Exchange, passing 170 markets

A week after adding Brazilian futures through B3, IBKR keeps extending market access on another front entirely: Romania.
What's new
IBKR added access to the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB), bringing its total exchange count past 170. BVB was one of Europe's strongest-performing markets in 2025, and this gives IBKR clients direct access rather than needing a workaround through a local broker.
Why it fits a pattern
Between Brazilian futures and now Romanian equities, IBKR is working through market-access gaps in two unrelated directions at once. Neither is an AI-agent story like most of what we've covered this year, it's the steadier, less headline-grabbing kind of expansion that actually changes what you can hold in an account.
Why this matters if you use Cresori
IBKR is one of the brokers Cresori connects to directly. If you start trading BVB-listed instruments, that's a new market, currency and settlement convention for Cresori to handle correctly, the same kind of edge case Brazilian futures introduced a week earlier.
