IBKR's AI connector isn't limited to Claude, ChatGPT and Grok anymore

Back in June we covered IBKR's rollout of agentic AI trading, gated to three certified marketplace partners: Claude, ChatGPT and Grok. That gate just came off.
What changed
IBKR opened a public MCP connector (api.ibkr.com/v1/api/mcp-public) that works with any MCP-compatible tool, not just the three named integrations. Claude Code, Cursor, Perplexity and Windsurf are confirmed working today, with Gemini support coming. Anyone who builds an MCP client can now, in principle, connect to it.
Why this is a bigger deal than it sounds
Adding a fourth certified partner would just be more of the same model. Opening a public protocol endpoint is a different one: IBKR no longer controls the list of what can connect, it controls the protocol surface, and any tool that speaks MCP correctly gets in. That's a meaningfully larger set of platforms with technical access to draft trades on an account than "three named AI labs."
Why this matters if you use Cresori
The advice from June still holds, know exactly what's connected to your account and revoke it the moment you're done, but it applies more broadly now. It's no longer enough to know "I use Claude" or "I don't use any of the big three," since the connector isn't restricted to them anymore. If you've linked an IBKR account to any AI tool, check what it actually has access to, don't assume the old three-platform list is still the whole picture.
